Lots of people like to pick a word for each year. A word that will represent what they want to focus on throughout the year. I do too but I do it a bit differently. I pray for my word. I ask the Lord to give me the word HE wants me to focus on for the year. I want to always be in His will and I feel like if I pick the word myself it may not be what He wants me to focus on.
By doing this for the past 2 years, having a divine word has helped me to stay encouraged when I encountered hard times. I guess I see the word as a promise and I know I can always trust that the Lord will bring it to pass.
In this video I talk about how my words of the year have helped me to stay grounded and centered in tests and trials. I also tell you how to simply ask the Lord for your own word and how to keep it in front of you as a reminder.
