Why You Should be in the Word Everyday!

Why you should be in the word everyday!

It is time. It is time for you to understand that reading your bible is warfare. That’s right! Let me say that again, reading your bible is warfare. When you read your bible you are getting ready to do battle with the enemy. Yeah, sounds kinda scary right!

We have an enemy. A real enemy that is on a misson to kill, steal and destroy as the book of John tells us. He is on a mission to stop us, but we are far from defenseless. The Lord has equipped us with weapons. One of the most powerful weapons we have access to is our bibles.

Getting into the word every single day is how we can suit up for battle. Literally! Who would knowingly go into a battle unprepared? That doesn’t make any sense to me.

Let’s see what the bible says about it. We read in Ephesians 6:10-1810

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”

Listen, I am known for my ability to keep it real so that’s what I’m gonna do with you! If your life is a mess and you are constantly feeling overwhelmed, let me ask you–are you preparing yourself for those battles? Are you putting on your armor or are you allowing the enemy come at you only to find yourself unprotected? Are you making it easy for him to succeed? Don’t give him the advantage!

Tough questions I know, but know that I say this outta love! I am passionate about teaching the word and part of that is explaining the power that the word of God holds, but you can’t access that power unless you read it. Find a version you understand and start reading.

Learn to make reading your bible part of your everyday life. It doesn’t have to take hours, just a few minutes each day. Make it a habit and place importance on doing it. Incorporate it into your routine. The enemy doesn’t play fair so you need to have your armor on everyday! Use the weapons that God has provided and be determined to win the war.

Blessings,

Melodye
