How 3 powerful supplements can lower thyroid antibodies naturally

If you have been diagnosed with an autoimmune thyroid condition such as Hashimoto’s disease, you’re likely familiar with the presence of elevated thyroid antibodies since that is how you get diagnosed. These antibodies, known as thyroid peroxidase (TPO) and thyroglobulin antibodies (TgAb), can contribute to inflammation, thyroid dysfunction, and more symptoms.

Before we discuss supplementing though, I want you to understand that diet is also very important. An anti inflammatory nutrient dense diet will lower high antibodies and reduce symptoms so don’t ignore that aspect. Supplements are meant to go hand in hand with diet.

While there is no magic pill for completely eliminating thyroid antibodies, certain supplements have been shown to be very helpful in reducing their levels and promoting a healthier immune response which basically means LESS SYMPTOMS FOR YOU.

 Now let’s talk about three powerful supplements that can potentially help lower thyroid antibodies naturally.

1. Selenium:

Selenium is an essential trace mineral with powerful antioxidant properties that plays a crucial role in thyroid function and immune regulation. Studies have suggested that selenium supplementation can reduce thyroid antibody levels in individuals with Hashimoto’s disease. It may help to calm down the immune response of your immune system attacking your thyroid (Hashimotos), to decrease thyroid inflammation, and protect thyroid cells from damage caused by oxidative stress.

When considering selenium supplementation, you absolutely MUST test your levels first to be sure you are indeed deficient in it. If you aren’t and you supplement it, it could worsen symptoms like hair loss.

Test don’t guess.

If you have MTHFR be aware that your selenium levels may already be too high so addressing MTHFR first is important.

Selenium-rich foods such as Brazil nuts, sardines, and organ meats can also be incorporated into your diet to support thyroid health.

2. Vitamin D:

Vitamin D, often referred to as the “sunshine vitamin,” is known for its role in bone health and immune function. Recent research has indicated a link between vitamin D deficiency and autoimmune thyroid conditions. Supplementing with vitamin D may help reduce thyroid antibody levels and improve overall thyroid function.

Again, this is a supplement that you will need to test your levels to know if you are deficient or not. Optimal Vitamin D levels for women is between 80-100 so if you are below that, consider adding a vitamin D supplement like this one HERE that I use with my clients.

You don’t want to go over that.

When supplementing with vitamin D, always take vitamin K with it. Vitamin K helps vitamin D go where it needs to go in the body.

Additionally, spending time in sunlight, consuming vitamin D-rich foods such as fatty fish and mushrooms, can also help to maintain optimal vitamin D levels.

 3.  Aloe Vera Juice:

Aloe vera, often referred to as the “plant of immortality,” has been revered for centuries for its numerous health benefits. While it is widely known for its topical uses, aloe vera juice offers a wealth of benefits when ingested as well. One of its potential advantages includes its ability to support thyroid health and lower thyroid antibodies. 

Understanding the Connection:

Autoimmune thyroid conditions, such as Hashimoto’s disease, involve an overactive immune response that leads to the production of thyroid antibodies. These antibodies attack and damage the thyroid gland, causing inflammation and disrupting thyroid function. Lowering thyroid antibody levels is crucial for managing these conditions and promoting thyroid health.

The Power of Aloe Vera Juice:
