DIY Dry Shampoo

I love dry shampoo. I use it to create texture and volume and to not have to wash my hair often. I truly believe the higher the hair the closer to God!!

What I don’t love is the dangerous chemicals often found in dry shampoos so I decided to make my own! I make both a dry power that I apply by shaking it on my scalp and one that is a liquid that I actually spray in. Both create the look I want and make my hair easier to style as well as absorbing excess oil from the hair. I only wash my hair once a week and dry shampoo is my secret for that! You’re welcome.

Powder Dry Shampoo

Ingredients:

1/4 Cup Cornstarch (get HERE)
1 Tbls Baking Soda (get HERE)
2 Drops Young Living Lavender
2 Drops Young Living Rosemary
1 Drop Young Living Tea Tree (to get these oils and me as your oily mentor click HERE)
Optional for Dark hair: Add 1 – 2 Tbls Cocoa powder (get HERE)

Directions:

Mix together and store in a spice jar or mason jar like the one I use HERE.

Sprinkle on roots or apply with large makeup brush like this one HERE. Then massage into the scalp!

Spray Dry Shampoo

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup Water
2 Tbls Cornstarch
2 Tbls Vodka
2 Drops Young Living Lavender
2 Drops Young Living Rosemary
1 Drop Young Living Tea Tree

Directions:

Mix together and then store in a spray bottle that sprays a fine mist like this one HERE (its an olive oil sprayer but its glass and sprays a fine mist so it works for me)!

Spray into root of your hair. Hair should be damp, not wet. Then blow dry as needed.

Enjoy looking fly and having to not wash your hair as often!

Blessings,

Melodye
