GOING GLUTEN FREE CAN HELP TO GET RID OF YOUR THYROID SYMPTOMS

You have probably heard that going gluten free could help your thyroid symptoms but do you know exactly WHY?

For me, knowing the WHY behind things helps me to be motivated to do them so today I am sharing with you 3 solid reasons that going gluten free could help you ditch your hypothyroidism and Hashimotos symptoms.

1. Eating gluten can contribute to leaky gut which is a leading cause of thyroid disease. It causes gut permeability, aka leaky gut, which is microscopic holes in the gut that allow food particles to pass through and get into your blood stream. This causes inflammation and inflammation causes symptoms. Healing leaky gut can be extremely helpful in ditching your symptoms. Removing gluten from your diet is a great first step to do that.

2. Gluten causes your immune system to attack your thyroid. Gluten on a cellular level closely resembles your thyroid gland. Because gluten causes inflammation, when you eat it, your immune system attacks it because it sees it as an invader but because it resembles your thyroid gland, your body then attacks that too which causes a slew of symptoms. If this continues over time you get permanent damage to your thyroid. Removing gluten helps this process to stop.

3. Gluten is highly inflammatory all on it’s own. It causes a lot of symptoms and not just digestive symptoms either. Brian fog, joint pain, fatigue, skin issues, the list goes on and on…

Going gluten free for your thyroid has so many benefits.
